Gibberish: Teletubbies, the Apocalypse, and the Search for Beauty and Truth 2012

"Gibberish" is a progression away from the industrial concepts relied upon in my earlier content through slip-casting. In this work, clay is exploited for its inherent visual narrative, describing geologic time. At play is the use of materials that visually explain the complexity of the "faux" world, that we inhabit. The high value of the porcelain material, the pretty blue glaze re-contextualized into torn clay pieces have been only modified to enhance their original material state. The clay objects signify the earth/ground, rain/water, clouds/sky, and the faux natural materials indicate ideas of nature: flowers/grass/hill.
